Value of Education
Latinos are hardworking and understand the advantages of education. Unfortunately many are impoverished - so higher education is unattainable because of the financial costs. Certainly, one way to improve the health of the Latino community is by keeping education affordable for the working poor and by promoting the long term advantages of education through scholarship, loan repayment and financial aid. When we educate the young latinos in communities about the importance of healthy lifestyles, and the value of preventive care - we educate the whole family.
How do we ensure that Latinos, the largest segment of the uninsured benefit optimally from this effort?
